1. Our promise
MentorHer Rising asks you to be honest with yourself. That only works if you trust where your words go.
The sections that follow set this out in full.
2. Who we are
MentorHer Rising operates the website at mentorherrising.com and the MentorHer Rising mobile application. The formal operating entity and data-protection contact will be added after owner and legal review, before launch.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name or chosen display name, and your email address.
- Journal entries — the reflections you write.
- Mood check-ins — the daily entries you tap, from struggling to thriving.
- Challenge progress — days completed, streaks, milestones, and your phase.
- Community posts — anything you choose to share within the community.
- Payment status — handled by the approved payment provider, not stored by us.
- Messages to us — support requests and other correspondence.
Information collected automatically
We collect limited technical information needed to run the service: device type, operating-system version, app version, crash reports, and general usage patterns.
What we do not collect
We do not collect precise location data, contacts, photos, microphone, or health-app data. We do not track you across other apps or websites for advertising.
4. Your journal
Journal content may be accessed only in narrow circumstances: where you explicitly ask for support, or where access is legally required. Technical access needed to fix a fault must be limited and logged.
You can export your journal at any time. Deleting your account deletes entries according to the retention period confirmed before launch.
5. The community
Content you choose to post in the community is visible to other members. Treat it as public within that community and do not include anything you would not want other members to read.
- You control how your name appears, subject to display-name options confirmed before launch.
- You can delete your own posts.
- We may remove content that breaches community guidelines.
- Copies may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion.
6. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account, and deliver the challenge and app features.
- To show your progress, streaks, milestones, and certificate.
- To operate the community and enforce its guidelines.
- To process membership payments and manage subscriptions.
- To send service messages and optional newsletters you request.
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the service.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for third-party marketing.
7. Payments
Paid memberships will be processed by the provider selected before launch, or by Apple or Google where you subscribe through an app store. Card numbers and banking details are handled by those providers and are not stored on our systems.
We retain a record of subscription tier, billing period, and payment status where needed to give access and meet accounting obligations.
8. Legal basis
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide features you signed up for and manage a paid membership.
- Consent — for optional newsletters, notifications, and non-essential analytics.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and improve it.
- Legal obligation — to retain records required by law.
11. Data retention
- Active accounts — retained while your account is open.
- Deleted accounts — deleted within the period confirmed before launch, other than records that law requires us to keep.
- Backups — may persist in encrypted backups for a limited overwrite period.
- Payment records — retained as required for tax and accounting.
- Newsletter subscriptions — retained until you unsubscribe.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and your data.
- Export your journal and data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Unsubscribe from marketing email.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and limiting internal access to those who need it.
No system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password and keep it private.
14. Age requirement
MentorHer Rising is intended for adults and is not directed at children. The exact minimum age and the process for reports involving minors require owner and legal confirmation before accounts are opened.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service develops or the law changes. Where changes are significant, we will notify members in the app or by email before they take effect.
16. Contact us
If you have any question about this policy or your information, please get in touch. We answer personally.
The privacy email, operating entity, and business address are awaiting owner confirmation and will be published before launch.
